Tierra de los Muertos Festival
The festival will take place from Friday, October 24th to Sunday, October 26th, 2025, with an additional Decompression Party on Sunday, November 3rd, 2025.

1. When and where does Tierra de los Muertos 2025 take place?

The 5th Edition of Tierra de los Muertos takes place Friday–Sunday, October 24–26, 2025, across three breathtaking venues in Oaxaca & Mitla, Mexico:

  • 🏛 Reforma 600 (Oaxaca City) — Opening Ceremony & Welcome Party (Friday)
  • 🌵 La Fortaleza Fields (Mitla) — Main Festival & Sunset-to-Sunrise Celebration (Saturday)
  • 🍽 Centro Gastronómico de Oaxaca — Decompression & Closing Party (Sunday)

Each venue celebrates life, death, and music through unique art, rituals, and sound.

4. Are tickets limited? Why buy early?

Yes — capacity is limited, especially for Saturday in Mitla.

5. Can I get a refund if I can’t attend?

All sales are final and non-refundable, unless the event is officially canceled.
However, tickets are transferable to another person.

6. Where do the official buses depart from?

🚌 Parque El Llano, Oaxaca City (across from La Casona del Llano).

Cost: $240 MXN (round trip, incl. fees)
Schedule: Departures start 1 hour before the event and run all night
Priority: Pre-purchased passes board first
Cash sales: Limited, subject to availability
Rules: No outside food or drinks

9. What should I bring?

12. Age Restriction

This is an 18+ event.
No minors allowed, even with an adult.
Valid photo ID is required for entry.

14. I’m coming from abroad — what do I need?

15. Recommended Hotels

Stay in 📍 Centro Oaxaca, Zócalo, Reforma, or San Felipe del Agua.
Limited rooms under the code “SET UNDERGROUND” are available at select partner hotels.
If attending only Saturday, book in Mitla.
🏨 Rooms are limited — reserve ASAP.

17. What makes La Fortaleza special?

An open-air venue surrounded by agave fields and Zapotec mountains — the spiritual heart of the festival.
It’s not inside the archaeological site but honors the sacred energy of Mitla (“Lyobaa” — Place of Rest).
